    A little bit about me ... 

    We just welcomed our fifth child on June 11th, 2011 -- I now have one boy (9) and four girls (7, 4, 3 and baby!). Giving birth to my children in Maryland, Germany, Alabama and British Columbia has inspired my interest in birth. In 2008, I started pursuing certification as a doula and childbirth educator and am now certified through DONA International. I bought my first SLR camera in 1999 and have been somewhat obsessed with it ever since, spending entire afternoons photographing blossoms (or family members!) or taking classes through Vancouver Photo Workshops. Combining my interests in birth & photography has been a wonderful fit for me; I feel privileged to be able to support families throughout the transformative childbearing years -- and create professional photographic artwork that will forever document their experiences.

Looking for something a little different this Christmas? I am pleased to be able to offer these unique circle die-cut cards. Your photography package may be upgraded to include these cards. If you have purchased a mini session or want to purchase them “a la carte” using a photo from one of your previous sessions, the price is $1.95/card (minimum 25, printed in packs of 25) which includes envelopes and direct shipping to your home. Cards are 5×5″ and printed double-sided on premium cardstock. Orders must be placed through me before November 15, 2011.

What I’ve been up to this summer …

Not much: just having a baby and getting used to life as a family of seven.:)Looking forward to reconnecting with many of you during my next set of mini-sessions — September 10th, 2011!

Oh! And I got to take my nephew’s first photos this past week… He weighed in at only 4 lbs 1 ounce but he’s growing day by day and doing so well!

I am pleased to offer die-cut birth announcements beginning Fall 2011. I chose the sweet pea design for Clara’s birth announcement and was so pleased with how it turned out. Die-cut announcements can be substituted for regular cards as part of any photography package — ask me for details!

Baby Clara is here!

Clara June Dueck was born at home, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, June 11th, 2011 at 11:01pm. She weighed 8 lbs 2 ounces and was 20″ long. I’ll post some more photos later but right now, we are busy resting and baby-gazing… Thank you all for your emails and messages! We feel so blessed.
